Kosisochukwu W. Ugwuede (b. 1991) is an essayist, photographer & journalist from Enugu, Nigeria.


Her work has been published in A Long House, DIAGRAM, Lolwe, Psaltery & Lyre, The Arkansas International, Bloomberg CityLab and several others.


Her work was a finalist for the 2024 Plentitudes Prize in Nonfiction, 2023 Koffi Addo Writivism Prize for Nonfiction, and has been nominated for Best Spiritual Literature and Best of the Net anthologies. Her reporting has received a Society of Professional Journalists' Excellence in Journalism Award.  


She is a graduate of Oregon State University's MFA in nonfiction writing program and holds an undergraduate degree in Microbiology & Biochemistry from the University of Nigeria. She currently lives in Corvallis, Oregon where she reports for the Albany Democrat Herald/Corvallis Gazette-Times, while at work on an essay collection interrogating food production, commerce and cultures between Nigeria and the Pacific Northwest.
